As a former top-level teenage athlete I have had a lifelong interest in sport and sports science. During my undergraduate studies, I wrote a program called Lactate-E which has become the industry standard for calculating blood lactate markers. This software both standardised and automated the calculation of markers of performance in athletes and has subsequently been used in sports science labs throughout the world.

For internet completeness, note the software was originally released here.

I have also undergone training to become an ITEC level 2 diploma qualified gym instructor. I actually enjoy writing training programs, with concepts of periodisation in mind, and comparing the outcomes. This fits in quite well with my main research interests in biological modelling.
