19th July.

Last day of Irish National Rowing Championships. No Junior Races.

18th July.

Irish National Rowing Championships. After very tough racing, against phenomenally strong Skibbereen crews, Bish get:

17th July.

First day of Irish National Rowing Championships. No racing due to weather conditions.

6th July.

Bish return home from Henley.

1st July.

Bish race, seeded crew, Eton College in first round at Henley. Unfortunately they lose by 2.5 lengths.

28th June.

The Bish leave for Henley Royal Regatta.

21st June.

Galway Regatta. A fabulous days racing for the entire club. Despite very bad weather all crews performed very well, with most oarsmen getting at least 1 win.

20th June.

Athlone Regatta. The J18 4+ won their event. A much mixed up crew raced the J18 8+'s and failed to qualify for the final. The J16 8+ and J15 8+ came second in their events.

5th June.

The new Empacher 8+ was blessed and named "Neville" after Neville Maxwell the ex-bish oarsman who has represented Ireland in the World Championships and in the Olympics.

25th May.

Northwich Regatta. Everyone who was on the Nottingham trip was in Northwich. Racing was over a 1000m course. The club performed extremely well and won MS1 4+'s, MS2 8+'s, Mens Novice 4+'s and Mens Junior 4+'s.

24th May.

Northwich Regatta. Those people not on the Championship 4+ in Nottingham raced over a 500m course in Northwich. We won the MS2 8+'s and MS4 8+'s events.

23rd & 24th May.

British National Schools Championships

The club had an excellent performance by all crews

9th May.

Portora Royal Regatta. An excellent trip for all the club. We won the J18 8+'s and 4+'s and the J16 8+'s and 4+'s, all quite easily. Unfortunately the J18 2- was disqualified for bad steering due to a broken rudder.

18th April.

Limerick Regatta The club showed a strong performance for its first regatta of the season. The J18 B 8+ won their races easily. The J16 8+ came second in the final of their event. The J16 4+ unfortunately failed to qualify from a very tough heat and the two J15 8+'s raced very well and came second and third in the final of their race.

14th March.

Galway Head of the River. An excellent day's racing. The J18's won their 8+'s event easily and came second in the 4+'s. The 2nd 8+ put in a time of 15:10, and the 3rd and 4th 8+'s also did very well. The J16 4+(entered as Nov) put in an excellent 15:58 only 1 min behind the 1st 4+(14:58). The club won Best Junior Club Overall at the Head.

28th February.

Bish raced a J18 8+ and a J16 8+ in Erne Head. The J16's won their grade easily with a 40 sec gap between them and the next crew. The J18's came second in their grade to Portora.

1st February.

New Ross Marathon. Bish entered 2x J18 8+'s, both did extremely well. The first 8+ came second overall, in a race that nearly broke the course record. They came first in their grade. The second 8+ included 5 J16 and 1 J15 oarsman. They raced very well and came seventh overall.

6th December.

St.Michael's Head of the river. Racing went fairly well. Bish raced:

  1. 2 x J18 8+'s.
  2. 4 x J18 4+'s.
  3. 3 x J16 8+'s.
  4. 2 x J16 4+'s.

2nd November.

The Portadown members went for a training spin at 9am with the Bish J18 8+, they left for home immediately after the session at 11am.

1st November.

The fun regatta with the Portadown and Jes Rowing Club's took place. There was racing in mixed crews from 11am to 4pm and a meal and games back at the school at 8pm. Everyone greatly enjoyed the day.

31st October.

The members of Portadown Rowing Club arrived at 9:00pm. They split up and went to stay in the houses of the current "Bish" members.

3rd October.

The new J15's started in the club. 31 showed up on the first day.

13th September.

Training restarted with four crews on the water: J18 8+, J18b 4+, J16 8+ and J15 4+. It is planned to train in approximately these combinations until St. Micheals Head of the River (6th Dec.)
